
Melissa Stephens is a comedian, writer, and director. Her acting credits include "The New Girl," "Californication," "Key and Peele," "House of Lies," and "Black Monday." Melissa created shows for Funny or Die, including "Get Up" with Drew Tarver, and is a former alum of The Groundlings' Sunday Company.
More recently, she performed her comedy special "Hot Dog & Tears" at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which was later sold as a pilot to Eone. Additionally, she wrote for the AMC anthology series "Soulmates," created by Brett Goldstein and William Bridges, currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
Melissa's directorial debut, "Peen," received recognition as a Vimeo Staff Pick, and the short series she wrote and directed, "Finding the Asshole," was selected for screening at Slamdance. Currently, she is in development with Twentieth Century Fox and Leslye Headland on a television project, while also writing for multiple TV and film projects.
Melissa is a founding member of the IAMA Theatre Company and regularly performs stand-up comedy in Los Angeles.
