Melissa Stephens hails from the peach state. After graduating high school with record low numbers and a stint in night school she packed her bags and headed for New York City to pursue her acting career. She studied at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She performed in a couple shitty weird off off off Broadway shows. Feeling the feels, she ventured to Los Angeles with not enough money to turn on her cell phone. Once in LA she spent a hot minute trying to find her people and herself. That's when she fell into IAMA as one of the founding members performing in the world premiere of Leslye Headlands Bachlorette and Reverb. She also hopped into the comedy community and joined Groundlings Sunday Company and started performing stand up all around LA at UCB, Nerdmelt, and a lot of underground shows and the occasional Festival. She's got a hit podcast Fear Based Life on Feral Audio. She's a writer, actor, and comedian. Credits include: Californication, Outsourced, Key and Peele, New Girl, Bajillion Dollar Listings, Transparent, Bachlorette, I Didn't Want a Mastodon. (IAMAfest 2015) Do Like The Kids Do (IAMA NY Premiere) Montana (IAMAfest 2014) Peen (IAMA Reunion 2016 writer/actor) Thin But Poor (HBO Digital, writer/actor) Objectification (IAMA 23 hour festwriter) Get Up & We're Here (Funny or Die, writer/actor) and a lot more but she doesn't want you to get uncomfortable with her range of talent.
